901.87 This Division applies in respect of the following operations of a remotely piloted aircraft system: (a) the operation of a small remotely piloted aircraft or a medium remotely piloted aircraft to conduct a BVLOS operation in uncontrolled airspace and at a distance of not less than 1 km from a populated area; and (b) the operation of a small remotely piloted aircraft to conduct a BVLOS operation in uncontrolled airspace over a sparsely populated area or at a distance of less than 1 km from a populated area.
