604.100 Flight duty period may be extended by one half of the length of the rest period, to a maximum of four hours, if (a) before a flight crew member reports for the first flight or reports as a flight crew member on standby, as the case may be, the private operator provides the flight crew member with notice of the extension of the flight duty period; (b) the private operator provides the flight crew member with a rest period of at least four consecutive hours in suitable accommodation; and (c) the flight crew member’s next minimum rest period is increased by an amount of time at least equal to the length of the extension of the flight duty period.
